Vela Thermal Pack
The Vela thermal pack provides thermal therapy for musculoskeletal aches and pains related to pregnancy. The Vela attachment can be used as a warm pack or a cool pack based on the user’s preference.

Using the Vela Attachment as a Warm Pack
Warning: DO NOT PLACE THE VELA THERMAL PACK AGAINST YOUR ABDOMEN WHEN USING IT AS A WARM/HEAT PACK. APPLICATION OF HEAT TO THE ABDOMEN DURING PREGNANCY COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS COMPLICATIONS INCLUDING STILLBIRTH.
To avoid the risk of thermal injury, do not wear the Vela attachment to sleep and always test the temperature prior to use. Do not use the Vela attachment for more than 10-15 minutes at a time. Do not use the Vela attachment if you have any medical condition affecting your circulation or sensation – consult your physician prior to using.
Note: The following instructions are based on a 950 Watt microwave oven. Heating times may vary depending on the power of your microwave.
- Take the thermal pack out of its fabric case, place the pack in your microwave, and heat the pack at full power for 45-60 seconds.
- Remove the thermal pack from your microwave and carefully test the temperature with the inside of your wrist to ensure the temperature is according to your personal comfort level.
- If the thermal pack is not warm enough, continue to heat it in your microwave at 10-second intervals until comfortable.
- If the thermal pack is too hot, allow it to cool for some time until the temperature is comfortable.
- Lay the PrenaBelt™ on a flat surface with the outer side facing up.
- Place the thermal pack back inside its fabric case, secure it in place within the case using the two buttons, and close the case.
- Orient the Vela attachment so that the hook fastener of the attachment is aligned to the loop fastener along the top of the back section of the PrenaBelt™ with the pack centered and above the PrenaBelt™.
- Press firmly to secure the hook-and-loop connection.
- Once the Vela attachment is securely attached, pick up the PrenaBelt™ so that the Vela attachment flips to the inside of the PrenaBelt™ (so that it is located between the inside of the PrenaBelt™ and your skin) and proceed to put the PrenaBelt™ on.
- To remove the Vela attachment, take off the PrenaBelt™ and lay it on a flat surface so that the attachment flips above the PrenaBelt™.
- Grasp one side of the Vela attachment and pull it away from the PrenaBelt™.
Using the Vela Attachment as a Cool Pack
Warning: To avoid the risk of thermal injury, do not wear the Vela attachment to sleep and always test the temperature prior to use. Do not use the Vela attachment for more than 10-15 minutes at a time. Do not use the Vela attachment if you have any medical condition affecting your circulation or sensation – consult your physician prior to using.
- Take the thermal pack out of its fabric case and place the pack in your freezer for at least one hour.
- Carefully test the temperature of the thermal pack with the inside of your wrist to ensure the temperature is according to your personal comfort level.
- If the thermal pack is not cool enough, continue to cool it in the freezer at 30-minute intervals until comfortable.
- If the thermal pack is too cold, allow it to warm for some time until the temperature is comfortable.
- Lay the PrenaBelt™ on a flat surface with the outer side facing up.
- Place the thermal pack back inside its fabric case, secure it in place within the case using the two buttons, and close the case.
- Place the Vela attachment at the position along the PrenaBelt™ where you want the cool pack applied to your body/waist.
- Orient the Vela attachment so that the hook fastener of the attachment is aligned to the loop fastener along the top of the PrenaBelt™ with the pack above the PrenaBelt™.
- Press firmly to secure the hook-and-loop connection.
- Once the Vela attachment is securely attached, pick up the PrenaBelt™ so that the pack flips to the inside of the PrenaBelt™ (so that it is located between the inside of the PrenaBelt™ and your skin) and proceed to put the PrenaBelt™ on.
- To remove the Vela attachment, take off the PrenaBelt™ and lay it on a flat surface so that the attachment flips above the PrenaBelt™.
- Grasp one side of the Vela attachment and pull it away from the PrenaBelt™.
Care & Maintenance of the Fabric Case
1. Do not dry clean.
2. Wash with a gentle detergent and warm water (maximum water temperature of 30°C).
3. Hang dry.
4. Do not iron.
Care & Maintenance of the Foam Component
Note: Washing the foam component is not recommended. In the event the foam component needs to be cleaned, follow the instructions below.
1. Do not wash or submerge the foam component in water or any other cleaning fluid.
2. Wipe the affected areas with a damp cloth.
3. Do not wring or deform the foam.
4. Air dry.
5. Do not place in direct sunlight.
6. When not in use, ensure that the foam is not compressed.
