Norma Attachment

Français

The Norma attachment is restrictive. It provides a functional obstruction to the pelvis, which prevents the user from sleeping flat on their back and keeps the pelvis tilted towards the left or right side. The Norma attachment has two configurations on the PrenaBelt™ – one configuration promoting left side and left-pelvic-tilt sleep and one configuration promoting right side and right-pelvic-tilt sleep. The user can choose the configuration based on their preferred sleeping position.

Materials

♹ Foam: Polyurethane Foam

♹ Fabric Case: 95% Rayon, 5% Spandex

Notes:

  • You may notice that your new Norma Attachment arrives with a slight odor. This is normal and not harmful. Place it in a well-ventilated area for 1-3 days.
  • You may notice that the white memory foam component of your new Norma Attachment has a yellowish tint. This is not a stain nor is it harmful. This yellowish tint is a normal part of the memory foam lifecycle. At the factory overseas where your Norma Attachment foam was made, the foam components are cut, assembled, and immediately vacuum packed and shipped to our assembly and packaging facility in Oakville, Ontario, which is a facility that meets high standards for medical device assembly and packaging. The foam is still white when it arrives at our facility. When we release the foam from the vacuum packing and it expands, exposure to room air and sunlight filtering into our facility results in the yellowish tint appearing within 24 hours. This process occurs quickly and before we have time to insert the foam into its fabric case. Depending on how the foam is stacked with other foam parts, the yellowish tint may appear more or less obvious.

Putting on and taking off the Norma Attachment

  1. Lay the PrenaBelt™ flat on a flat surface with the outer side facing up.
  2. Decide which side you would like to sleep on, as the Norma attachment does not allow you to easily switch sides.
  3. Orient the attachment as follows: If you prefer to sleep on your right side, orient the narrow part of the wedge to point toward the right side of the PrenaBelt™ back panel. If you prefer to sleep on your left side, orient the narrow part of the wedge to point toward the left side of the PrenaBelt™ back panel.
  4. Align the hook fastener on the back of the Norma attachment to the loop fastener on the back section of the PrenaBelt™, and press firmly to secure the hook-and-loop fastener connection.
  5. Once the Norma attachment is secured, you can put the PrenaBelt™ on.
  6. To remove the Norma attachment, take off the PrenaBelt™ and lay it flat on a flat surface with the Norma attachment facing up.
  7. Grasp one corner of the Norma attachment and pull it away from the PrenaBelt™.

Care & Maintenance of the Fabric Case

1. Do not dry clean.
2. Turn the fabric case inside out and zip it closed most of the way, but leave an opening so you can still get your hand inside of the case.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do NOT zip it closed more than this because it will be difficult to unzip it later due to the design of the zipper. If you zip the zipper fully closed, the fabric case may be permanently zipped shut, and you will not be able to unzip it.

3. Wash with a gentle detergent and warm water (maximum water temperature of 30°C)
4. Hang dry.
5. Do not Iron.
6.  To re-insert the foam, zip the zipper 1 centimeter past the corner, then compress the foam to insert it into the case through the zipper opening. Allow the foam to expand and fill the fabric case to its corners. Zip the zipper so it is completely closed.

Care & Maintenance of the Foam Component

Note: Washing the foam component is not recommended. In the event the foam component needs to be cleaned, follow the instructions below.

1. Do not wash or submerge the foam component in water or any other cleaning fluid.
2. Wipe the affected areas with a damp cloth.
3. Do not wring or deform the foam.
4. Air dry.
5. Do not place in direct sunlight.
6. When not in use, ensure that the foam is not compressed.
